Government of India has entrusted NEDFi, in the budget 1998-99, to act as the nodal agency for disbursement of Central Subsidies for the North Eastern States. At present subsidies under the following schemes are disbursed:
- CENTRAL TRANSPORT SUBSIDY:
- CENTRAL CAPITAL INVESTMENT SUBSIDY
- CENTRAL INTEREST SUBSIDY
- CENTRAL COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE SCHEME
Procedure for disbursement of Central Subsidies
All Eligible Industrial units need to be registered with the Directorate of Industries of concerned State Governments. The units have to submit their claims to the nearest District Industries Centre in a prescribed format issued by Directorate of Industries of the concerned State. The Claims are processed by Directorate of Industries and approved by the appropriate Committee depending on the amount of claim. In the case of CCIS, the State Level Committee of the concerned State can approved claims up to Rs.1.50 crore. Claims above Rs.1.50 crore but up to Rs.30.00 crore are to be approved by the Empowered Committee constituted by the Deptt. of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Govt. of India and claims above Rs.30.00 crore are to be approved by the Cabinet Committee. All approved claims under CTS and CCIS are subject to Pre-audit conducted by DIPP. For further information and application form, Directorate of Industries of the concerned State may be contacted.
